Fisherman’s cottage, Anstruther, Fife, Scotland

A wonderful renovation of an old fisherman’s cottage at the harbour of Anstruther, overlooking the Firth of Forth. Left unused for years, and in quite a dilapidated state. It was transformed into a stunning and contemporary yet cosy coastal home. The space offers an incredible weekend home from home, a super cool relaxed space to unwind with family. Oozing with character and coastal comforts, it’s a far cry from the traditional, coastal cottage feel. We introduced vibrant patterns and bright pops of colour in both the furniture and custom cabinetry.

The kitchen is the heart of the house, so we wanted to create a social space that was both unique and worked in the new open plan layout. A lot of glass was incorporated into the new formation, really brightening up the space and creating a light and airy atmosphere. Moving away from any traditional coastal cottage cliches, the focus was on contemporary pops of colour and character.
